That’s what we are, a second in time. I feel that way at least. We went on a beautiful hike this weekend at South Whidbey Island State Park.
We had the pleasure to meet this tree:
this cedar tree is 500 years old! 500! It’s one of the oldest trees in Washington. I can’t remember exactly what the sign in front of it said, but something about a bunch of tree huggers saving it from being hacked down for furniture/toilet paper/etc. thank your god of choice because it is one thing I am glad to have seen, you should see it too. It’s enormous.

Who new how difficult figuring out what, where, who, and how your child will be taught would be? We have been riding a roller coaster this last week trying to decide how our kids will be educated. We have been sort of hurrying the decision because the deadline to get your kids enrolled in preschool is February 1st, and even then you are most likely put on a waiting list. We have decided to homeschool, at least for now. After doing hours of research it is just the best fit for our family. I always said that homeschooled kids seemed weird. I have only known a couple, and realized that is a completely unfounded theory, not to mention ignorant. Both Pete and I had lacking education to say the least. I can’t tell you how many times I fell through the system. I almost had to repeat 7th grade, my social activities completely put my education on the back-burner and no-one saw it. Sad. So this will be a good fit. I know it will mean putting myself last for possibly a long time, I am OK with it for now. If I can’t swing it we can enroll the kids in the school system at any time.

I can’t seem to get the RSS to work, and the comments are weird looking. I’m going to work on it tomorrow, hopefully I can get it figured out without scrapping the whole theme…wish me luck.

Well here it is, the new spot for all things…um…all things me. Please don’t hesitate to leave feedback on quirks or anything really. (edited to add: the comments look funky, I’m working on it)
For now I am keeping this site public, I’ll let you all know if I am going to go private.
I am digging Wordpress. The options I have are far greater than they were with Blogger (no offense Blogger, you were good to me). I was definitely feeling like blogger was limiting me however. Things might be a bit buggy until I get the hang of Wordpress, hang on with me though, I would hate to see you go.
I am getting excited for February’s ‘photo a day’ challenge. Anyone else doing it with me?
The car obsession continues, all other toys deemed worthless.
