Well hello there blog, it’s me your author

Good thing I don’t make a living off this thing.

…..

Two words…SOUP SEASON! I have soup on the stove as I write this. I’m completely winging it, so far there is garlic, broth, and potatoes in it. I cooked some pasta to throw in and drained a can of navy beans. I suppose the kitchen sink might end up in there if I’m not careful.

The days are getting shorter and the air feels cool and crisp, Halloween is officially around the corner which means PUMPKINS, FARMS, APPLES, SWEATERS, SCARY MOVIES….! I can feel my blood pressure rising with excitement, seriously I can.

……

I guess we are going to install an IKEA kitchen. After seeing an actual IKEA kitchen at a friends house I realized they actually aren’t made out of balsa wood. Pete and I (well mostly Pete) installed a plate cabinet already. I wanted to see how the color felt. There it is above the microwave…

It’s the Fagerland line. Anyone seriously anti IKEA kitchen? Horror stories I should know about? The installer guy is coming over on Friday to see if I knew what I was doing when I tried to design it myself using the IKEA software..HA! I’ll let you know how it goes.

Birthday week

It’s been a busy week. My mom came and left, we threw a birthday party for Owen and August, Owen started gymnastics on top of swimming and now he sits in front of me listless with a 103˚ temperature and another ear infection…sigh.

I managed to make 2 batches of cupcakes for the party

I may have gone all out making them, but I sure as shit made sure the candle configuration took away from any beauty they might behold. They were very much like a personal strawberry shortcake. I could eat them all day, yes I could.

So here we are, Owen is 3…

Someone tell me how this happened? How do three years go by this fast? SOMEONE SLOW THE TIME DOWN! ARE YOU LISTENING? IT IS GOING TOO FAST! And then to add to it, August is 1…SLOOOOW DOOOOOWN!

Have you been eating tomatoes? It’s that time of year.

These were little golden sweet morsels sent from the tomato gods. I added them to a baked tortellini casserole with fresh mozzarella, artichoke pesto and threw some bread crumbs on top.

I tried to photograph this dish, but as you can see it looks like some disgusting egg mishap…bleh. It didn’t taste like an egg mishap however.

………..
Here is the theme song to Weeds for your listening pleasure
